Campos Racing is a Spanish motorsport team based in Alzira, Valencia, founded in 1997 by former Formula 1 driver Adrián Campos. Renamed several times over the years, the outfit has become a long-standing presence in junior single-seater racing, competing successfully in Formula 3, GP2/Formula 2 and the Spanish Formula 4 Championship.

Campos quickly built a reputation as a talent incubator. The team won the Open Fortuna by Nissan title in 1998 with Marc Gené, before repeating the feat in 1999 with a young Fernando Alonso. Antonio García led Campos to a third consecutive teams’ crown in 2000, cementing its status as one of Europe’s leading junior outfits. Many future Formula 1 and top-level drivers passed through the team, including Sergio Pérez, Lucas di Grassi, Vitaly Petrov, Lando Norris, Alexander Rossi, Álex Palou and Isack Hadjar.

Competing as Campos Grand Prix, the team became a GP2 frontrunner, finishing third in the championships in 2007 before winning the Teams’ title in 2008 with Lucas di Grassi. It also claimed back-to-back Spanish F3 titles in 2008 and 2009.

Campos briefly stepped onto the Formula 1 stage after securing an entry for the 2010 season, though financial difficulties led to the project becoming Hispania Racing. The team returned to GP2 in 2014 and has remained a fixture in Formula 2 and Formula 3 ever since, fielding drivers such as Rio Haryanto, Mitch Evans, Jack Aitken, Luca Ghiotto and Roy Nissany.

Following the death of founder Adrián Campos in January 2021, leadership passed to his son, Adrián Campos Jr. Under his guidance, Campos Racing continues to play a key role in developing the next generation of single-seater talent on the international stage.

2026 Driver Line-up Announced

Campos Racing will go into 2026 with a completely new driver line-up. With Théophile Nael, Ugo Ugochukwu and Ernesto Rivera joining the team in the hope of regaining the Championship.

Théophile Nael

After a highly successful karting career in France, Théophile Nael stepped into single-seater racing in 2022 with the Spanish F4 Championship. His progression was rapid, culminating in a dominant title-winning campaign in 2023. Nael moved up to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine in 2024, finishing ninth overall while gaining valuable experience at a higher level.

The Frenchman continued his climb in 2025 by joining FIA Formula 3 with Van Amersfoort Racing. He impressed with three podium finishes, secured eighth place in the championship standings, and capped off the season with a standout victory at the Macau Grand Prix. Nael will return to FIA Formula 3 in 2026, switching to Campos Racing for his second season in the category.

Ugo Ugochukwu

Ugo Ugochukwu arrived in single-seaters with a formidable karting résumé, highlighted by multiple titles including the CIK-FIA OKJ European Championship. The American made an immediate impact in 2022, finishing third in British F4, before stepping up to Italian F4 in 2023 where he claimed second overall and the Euro 4 Championship.

In 2024, Ugochukwu gained experience across multiple categories, contesting Formula Regional championships in the Middle East and Europe, finishing seventh and 11th respectively. He rounded off the season in style by winning the Macau Grand Prix. His FIA Formula 3 debut followed in 2025 with PREMA Racing, where he secured two podiums and ended the year 16th in the standings. He will return for a second F3 campaign in 2026 with Campos Racing.

Ernesto Rivera

Following a trophy-filled karting career, Ernesto Rivera stepped up to single-seater racing in 2024 and quickly showed his potential. Competing in Spanish F4, he claimed a race win and finished fifth in the championship standings.

The Mexican driver took another step forward in 2025 with Campos Racing in Eurocup-3, scoring seven podiums including three victories to finish fourth overall. A member of the Red Bull Junior Team, Rivera will continue his progression with Campos in 2026, making the step up to FIA Formula 3.

Reigning FIA Formula 3 Champion Rafael Câmara has confirmed his move to Invicta Racing for the 2026 Formula 2 season. The Brazilian driver, a member of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, is preparing for his F2 debut after a dominant 2025 campaign in which he secured five pole positions and four race victories on his way to the title.

Câmara described the opportunity to join Invicta as an exciting step forward, noting the team’s consistent competitiveness in Formula 2. Invicta has fought for both the drivers’ and teams’ championships in consecutive seasons, and Câmara’s goal for 2026 is clear: to challenge for another title.

“I’m joining a team that has fought for both championships two years in a row,” Câmara said. “They’ve shown they are a very strong team, so it’s up to me now. It’s never easy performing at the highest level, so I’ll be working hard during the off-season to make sure we start in good shape and ready to fight.”

Early Preparation and Simulator Work

Since announcing his move, Câmara has remained in Brazil, spending time with Ferrari during the São Paulo Grand Prix weekend and with family following a demanding season. Although he has yet to visit Invicta’s headquarters in the United Kingdom, he has already begun simulator work with the team to prepare for upcoming races.

The 20-year-old will attend the Formula 2 season finale in Abu Dhabi to observe Invicta’s operations and shadow the team throughout the weekend. He believes this experience will help him integrate quickly once pre-season testing begins.

“I haven’t visited the team yet because they are focused on preparations for Qatar and Abu Dhabi,” Câmara said. “I’ve done some simulator work with them, and I’ll be in Abu Dhabi to watch the team and meet everyone. Seeing how they work before we start testing will be useful because it helps build comfort and understanding.”

Following a Proven Path

Câmara is the latest Formula 3 Champion to move from Trident to Invicta, following in the footsteps of fellow Brazilians Gabriel Bortoleto and Leonardo Fornaroli, who both achieved success with the team after graduating from F3.

While their progress provides a strong example, Câmara said he intends to focus solely on his own performance rather than comparisons.

“It’s good to see that they’ve both had strong seasons with Invicta,” he said. “They adapted quickly and performed well. I’ll make sure I’m well prepared to achieve good results too. My focus is on what I can control. Formula 2 is more demanding physically, so I’m working harder in that area. The key is consistency, resilience, and not wasting energy on things outside my control.”

Looking Ahead to 2026

Before joining Invicta full-time, Câmara will continue simulator work and attend the post-season test in Abu Dhabi. He will then spend time at Ferrari’s Maranello base in December before returning to Brazil for the off-season.

“I’m in Brazil now, but I’ll return to Europe soon for simulator sessions and to join Invicta in Qatar,” Câmara said. “I’ll then attend testing in Abu Dhabi, visit Maranello for a few days, and go back to Brazil to end the year with my family.”

Câmara’s move to Invicta marks the next step in a career that continues to gather momentum as he prepares to take on Formula 2 in 2026.

What Formula Is Paul Aron In?

In 2020 Aron competed in the Formula Renault Eurocup, finishing 11th in the standings with one podium finish. In 2021, Aron continued racing in the category, now called the Formula Regional European Championship, and finished P3 in the standings with two wins and five further podium finishes, competing for Prema.

Aron currently sits third in the Championship on 176 points, with four victories and a further two podium finishes to his name in 2022.

Aron was born in Tallinn, Estonia, in 2004. He first sat in a kart at the age of seven and soon caught the racing bug, never looking back. He joined the Mercedes junior programme mid-way through the 2019 season.

Yes. PREMA Racing has confirmed that Paul Aron will make the step up to Formula 3 next season with the Italian team.

The 18-year-old has driven for PREMA almost exclusively since his single-seater debut in Italian F4 back in 2019.

Since then, he returned to the outfit for his Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine efforts in 2021 and ’22, most recently achieving a P3 finish in the Drivers’ Standings last season.

Team Principal Rene Rosin said that he had no doubt that Aron would be ready for the challenges that await in Formula 3 next season.

Arthur Leclerc was born in Monaco on 14 October 2000, and is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy. Leclerc is currently competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Arthur is the youngest of the three Leclerc brothers, the youngest Leclerc won his first title in 2014 with the Kart Racing Academy championship. Four years later, in 2018, he competed in French F4 Championship and finished fifth. In the subsequent year, Leclerc competed in ADAC Formula 4 and finished third.

Leclerc is currently competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Prema Racing who he has raced with since 2020 completing 32 races to date in F3. He is the teammate of British driver Ollie Bearman.

During his younger years, Lorenzo Leclerc was also a keen kart driver but his prospects of becoming a professional driver were hampered by financial difficulties. He subsequently serves in a pseudo-management role for Arthur Leclerc.

Will Arthur Leclerc Make F1?

While there are no guarantees in Motorsport Arthur has all the tools required to be a success, Arthur will continue on his climb up the single-seater ladder this year by racing in the Formula 3 category. The younger Leclerc joined the series in 2021 and won two races during his debut season, as well as scoring a pole position at the Hungaroring.

Arthur has continued his progress with an impressive first half of the season in 2022, with steady point finishes and a superb win at the 2022 Silverstone British GP. Leclerc remains part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, as with his brother was on his rise to the top levels of Motorsport. Ferrari has a reputation for producing F1 talent as we saw recently with current Haas driver Mick Schumacher, who won both F3 and F2 with Prema racing before progressing to F1.

I believe that Arthur Leclerc will succeed in his journey to F1, combining the factors that he has the backing of motorsports giants Ferrari and the advantage of Charles being such a success. I have no doubt that with the right dedication that Arthur will be a huge success and go on to successfully win F3 and F2 before joining the big leagues in F1.
